Living For Christ

Pastor Josh Slatten

Acts 17:28 “In Him (Christ) we live and move and have our being.” God knows why each person is here upon this earth. Ephesians 5:1 says, “Be imitators of God, as dearly loved Children, and walk in love as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us. In the same chapter verses 15-17 Paul says, “Pay careful attention, then, to how you live---not as unwise people but as wise making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lords’ will is.

C.T. Studd said these words

Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last. And when I am dying, how happy I’ll be, If the lamp of my life has been burned out for Thee.

Mankind exists for God. We are the crowning work of God’s creation. God created you because He desires an intimate relationship with His creation. Every day we are to get up and fulfill all that God has for our lives. Life is too short and too important to neglect what God has in store for you. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you---this is the Lord’s declaration---plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. God has a great purpose for you and good plans for your life. God doesn’t make mistakes and there have never been any flaws in His plan.

As we fulfill God’s purposes for our lives by walking in the truth and using our time wisely, we will be pleasing to God just like Jesus was. Jesus came to this earth to do His father’s will and not His own will. Matthew 3:17 “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.” When you have breathed your last breath, will Jesus be able to say to you “Well done they good and faithful servant.”
