Morning Devotion 4.27.20

He's Got the Whole World in His Hands!

As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well. Ecclesiastes 11:5-6

So how are you handling this stay at home order? Spending more time at home than you normally do? Are you getting cabin fever and tired of staring at the same ole walls? Tired of watching TV, doing puzzles, reading books, working in the yard? Are you just ready for it to all be over?

Everyone is ready to get back to normal, but what will that mean going forward. Everyone is going to be a little skittish. Everyone is going to be cautious. We are going to see more mask and gloves on people than has ever been in history. I believe normal is getting ready to change for a while. Will we be able to come back to church and have our meet and greet time where people shake hands, hug necks, pat each other on the back? Will we be a little reluctant to just act like none of this happened?

If we are honest every one of us will act a little different in the future. We are trying to figure it all out. In 2020 how could a small little virus shut down the nation much less the world? Did things just get crazy because we can’t understand it?

Here the words of the preacher in Ecclesiastes, “You do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” (Paraphrased) We have all had to sit in our homes and just have faith! Wow! What a novel idea. To just trust God and believe He knows what He is doing!

Do what you can and leave the rest to God! We do not know how and when all of this will end, but we do know and trust the one who is in control. Sin, death and uncertainty may have its way for now, but God will see the Believe through!

Thank you God for being in control! Help me to listen to you more than I listen to the experts. Help me to depend on you more than any other. Give me faith to endure and prosper. In Jesus Name, Amen
